The lovingly restored Chateau Saint Michel, lies just opposite the medieval town of Saint Lizier deep in the French Pyrénées. The chateau on a trip down from Toulouse and was the perfect location for Emily & Florent.
Bathed in the warm light of a Southern sun, the guests made the most of the swimming pool and gardens as preparations for the big day gathered pace. The ceremony was held outside in a tree-lined clearing with all the colours and textures of summer providing the backdrop as Emily and Florent made their vows to one another surrounded by friends and family.
It was a beautifully relaxed day amongst the old walls and the cypresses as the guests sipped on Pimms and played petanque while children and a few adults chased bubbles across the lawn.
The food was fantastic and the cheesecake a spectacle in itself before the desserts were laid out with coffee and the ladies kicked off their heels to dance. Emily and Flo had prepared something special for the first dance, then it was over to the bridesmaids before everyone made their way to the cellar and the music turned up a notch. As we made our way across the lawn in the dark, the music was reverberating around the grounds as the castle stood out handsomely against a starry sky.
Truly a wonderful day.
